Two people arrested after SWAT situation in North Amarillo

On Tuesday afternoon, the Amarillo Police Department's Proactive Criminal Enforcement Unit (PACE) received information on two people with felony warrants.

Logan Bailey Lawrence, 28, and Carlos Rene Perez, 28, were at a residence in the 1300 block of North Harrison Street. When officers pulled up they observed Lawrence, Perez and two other males run into the residence.

Officers attempted to make contact, but the two would not come out. The information received by the officers lead them to believe that one of the subjects inside of the residence might be armed with a firearm.

At 4:58 PM the APD SWAT team and negotiators were called to the scene. At 6:15 PM Lawrence, Perez and the other two males came out of the residence.

Lawrence had a Parole Violation Warrant for Dangerous Drugs and a Bond Forfeiture warrant for Dangerous Drugs out of Potter County. Perez had a Parole Violation Warrant for Dangerous Drugs.

Lawrence and Perez were booked into the Potter County Detention Center. The other two males were released at the scene.
