Democrats force one week delay on Supreme Court vote

Senate Democrats on Monday forced a one-week delay in a committee vote on President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, who remains on track for confirmation with solid Republican backing.

Republicans' first instinct is always to behave like the gentlemen they usually are. Democrats' first instinct is to behave like the cynical community organizers that they usually are. And never the twain shall meet.

Gorsuch will be approved, whether by the filibuster failing or by the nuclear option. Behind that. there are dozens of open federal court seats, and Republicans should fill those by batch vote, thumbing their noses all the time at cynical leftist operatives like Chuck Schumer, until the courts are overwhelmingly filled with judges who believe in the Constitution.

Democrats have broken Congress. Republicans are trying to return it to regular order. Democrats have a choice. If they choose to obstruct, forget them entirely. They're a meaningless historical anachronism.

Democrats will resort to any tactic to get what they want. This enables them to be unconcerned with preserving tradition--this is really the story of the leftward-tilt of the Democrat Party since the 1960's--in any part of society. All they care about is using the federal government to force obedience to progressive narratives.

Republicans must stop behaving like gentlemen. The GOP has to fight ferocity with ferocity and engage in all-out war until progressivism is confined to the dustbin of history and our Constitution is restored.

Neil Gorsuch's confirmation to the Supreme Court is one of many needed steps in that direction.

Despite what the Democrats claim, Merrick Garland was never going to win confirmation. He's a good judge, but too liberal. The Senate is majority conservative, representing the country which is majority conservative, and he would be an inappropriately liberal appointee to the Supreme Court.

Judge Gorsuch, however, is a by-the-book jurist who is completely dedicated to rule of law. He appears to have no biases against guns as Garland does, for example; rather, he interprets the Constitution as it was written and intended, unlike Garland.

Gorsuch is an excellent choice for Supreme Court. If he is not a social justice warrior with an agenda, that's a good thing.

Justice Sotomayor, appointed by Obama, is an agenda-driven social justice warrior who famously referred to herself as "a wise Latina". More recently, she stated that there were too many Jews and Catholics on the Supreme Court (obviously including her own religion to deflect charges of anti-Semitism).

Justice Elena Kagan, appointed by Obama, is also an agenda-driven social justice warrior who opposed military recruitment on Harvard campus, specifically on the law school campus during her reign as dean, because of their "don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding homosexuality, which she considered discriminatory.

That is the quality of Supreme Court Justice which Obama has inflicted on us for the next few decades. Gorsuch is head and shoulders above these idiots, and his clear dedication to rule of law free of personal political agendas and his obvious intellect and diplomacy are all signs that he will be an excellent defender of the Constitution.

The contemptible partisan sniping about failed candidate Merrick Garland is completely off base. Garland is an agenda-driven social justice warrior, which makes him the golden boy of the Left, but clearly unqualified for impartial jurisprudence.

The only clear path forward is to confirm Judge Gorsuch.
